How old do you have to be to train at SKILLZ?
We take kids as young as 4 or 5, but it really depends on each individual player.

How long are the individual sessions?
Sessions run for 1 hour, which will always include 30 min on the skating treadmill.

What is the player to coach ratio?
We have a maximum of 3 kids per group.

What are the equipment requirements?
Players 8 years old and younger must wear full equipment (minus shoulder pads).
Players over 9 years old must wear helmet, gloves, stick and skates.

What are the benefits of training on the treadmill?
You will receive one on one instruction with video analysis.
We incorporate shooting, passing, stickhandling, goal scoring, and puck protection.

Will the treadmill dull or ruin my skates?
The treadmill will dull your skates, but will not cause any damage to them.

Does it feel like real ice?
Yes, generally after 15 minutes on the treadmill it will begin to feel "normal."

What happens if the players fall?
All players wear a safety harness, which prevents injuries from falls.

When can we use the facility?
Advanced bookings are required for the training equipment.

As a parent, can I watch the sessions?
Yes, we have a viewing area, but kids can also be dropped off for their sessions.

How is the progress recorded?
We use an IPAD2 to record and teach certain sessions. Short video clips will be emailed throughout the course of the year.
